I was surprised that the place was so cozy... even though it was a little crowded the ambiance was still good... Cool relaxing music was playing... You could say that most of the people there were regulars...
"Poetry Jam Friday baby!" shouted by a woman who was sitting next to her man.
"You just got here on time..this is the favorite day of the regs."whispered by the man over the counter as i sat on the stool.
"One soda please." I ordered.
"Huh no hard drinks eh?" he asked
"Nah I don't really drink." I replied. He just smiled at me and gave me my drink.
The emcee went up the stage ... the classy relaxing music was replaced by a punk hip-hop beat... when people heard it they all went crazy, yelling and clapping...
"Yeah give it up baby!" Enthusiastically projected by a man sitting with a group of young people.
"What's going on? Why are the people in here so excited?".. i asked the man at the counter
"It's def poetry night.. most of the people in here wanna participate and get their voices heard on that stage."explained the man.
It got me so curious .. I thought this place was just good for drinking and partying. Def poetry.. that is something. And I wonder what part is this girl in pink lipstick playing...
...I've waited for awhile... I listened to poems after poems of people getting on stage...emotions after emotions.. drama after drama... and yes..laughter after laughter...then the time that I was waiting for came...
"Give it up for the Pink Gypsy."the emcee announced. People roared... some throwing their hands up in the air..she must be popular...
There she was wearing a wildly printed top...and an ethnic looking maxi skirt..She's wearing her hair down...with small braid at the top front of her face in a hippie kinda look...she's wearing long big dangling earrings...couple of bracelets in different colors..smokey purple eyes.... I know gypsies are known for their exotic sexy dancing move.. but she wasn't up for that.. She had a guitar with her...
I couldn't wait to see what she's going to do... I found myself so magnetized by her mysterious look... Me and the crowd were so drawn... waiting for the performance of the Pink Gypsy....
