GIRL WITH A PINK LIPSTICK 2 ( First Heartache)

A moment of silence... most of the people are sleeping now... three more hours before we reach Carlstone. I just knew that place from my folks. I've only seen its magnificent skyscrapers in magazines and teli. I just can't wait to have my feet on its ground. Three more hours and my journey will begin. I smiled thinking about my plans and the things that I can't wait to start. I rest my head...drifting off...

" What'd  you mean we're done?" I heard her talking. She was on the phone, so upset. "D'wayne I don't get it, I thought we were cool. What  are you saying?" She was clueless.

Man, why am I acting so concerned. I caught myself listening to her responses to whoever that person she was talking with on the phone.

"Babe come on... It's unfair... You know I had to go... I am on my way back to Carlstone now.... don't be like that. It was just a week....No...I am not gonna listen to you... We will talk...I'm back now...please.. No don't hang up on me...babe...bay." Tears began falling...She pushed herself up against the back of her seat....closed her eyes and quietly wept...She was in pain, Man, I could feel it...
Vulnerable...that's how I described her. I didn't exactly hear everything that she said on the phone but I could feel that she was hurt...by that D'wayne...

"Whoa...Did  I just  mention his name?...This is whack...come on now Rashid... don't ever go there. It's pure drama...leave that girl alone." voices at the back of my head.

Before I knew it I found myself offering her my hankie. She looked at my hand and was thinking if she should take it. I insisted. She grabbed it and gently wiped her tears.

" Not a good homecoming I suppose?" She sighed, "Yeah... It isn't new...but still caught me off guard.... I'm just not ready for this blow."

I don't exactly understand what she meant. But, all I know was that she was in pain.... Going back home broken-hearted... after a long, exhausting trip. She tried to compose herself....wiped her tears and looked for something inside her purse.... the pink tube...she applied it on her lips again...
